This is Gloucester fishing at its finest .
Gloucester striped bass fishing is underway as the larger stripers migrate into our waters, following mackerel up the coast. Come join us to catch these hugies and enjoy some light-tackle schoolie and large striped bass action. Stripers generally stay through September.
Off Gloucester, we have a
mix of giant bluefin tuna (sell-able fish, 300 to 1100+ lbs), medium (tag-and-release) and small (keepers!) tuna, caught on giant rods or lighter tackle. Yes, we said 1100 lbs - true giants have returned to the Gloucester area.
Kite bites: Watch for that slam of a bluefin busting the kite bait on the surface - Hooked up!

Tuna Hunter Fishing Charters ~ Captain Gary Cannell
Captain Gary Cannell
has been fishing his entire life - he has been U.S. Coast
guard licensed since 1984 (License # 777397). Gary has extensive
experience fishing in waters from Maine to the Bahamas, as
far as 100 miles offshore.
He is known for his expertise with Striped
Bass, Cod, Sharks, and Giant Bluefin Tuna. Originally from
New Jersey, Capt. Gary learned and perfected the art and science
of giant bluefin tuna fishing. Tuna Hunter would follow bluefin
tuna up and down the New England coast each season, frequenting
Brielle/Manasquan, NJ, Montauk, NY, Point Judith, RI and Chatham
and Gloucester, MA. Captain Gary and Tuna Hunter moved to
Gloucester in 1995 when caught and landed by a mermaid.
When not hunting, Gary is tuna
fishing, bass fishing, cod fishing, fly fishing. diving or
ice fishing. Come fall and winter, Gary is hunting birds, deer or elk. He is always searching for new fishing
hot sports, new techniques, and new ways to get fishing to
bite - always hunting and fishing in some way or manner. |
